Very short due to an included one shot, but still really good!
By Leaf
A very short read. Turns out one of Mochizuki's earliest works of Pandora Hearts was included, so almost half this volume was a look at what Pandora Hearts could have been...and to be honest, it was definitely not my cup of tea. I am very pleased with what we have now, and the art style is drastically different, and much better.
We learn the rest of Break's past (possibly? You never know when a plot twist will happen) and wow...he used to be a pretty despicable person. And I believe this is why he is so similar to the Mad Hatter. Several times we see him juxtaposed with the White Knight in his memories, and for those who have read Alice in Wonderland and Looking Glass, you should be familiar with him, the raven, doormouse, etc.
I have a feeling that Break was purposefully drawn by the knight to show how he fell from his knight status to the Mad Hatter. It all makes sense! XD
Remember Echo? Yeah, she gets some character development, and wow, I felt bad for her. She basically said that Vincent tortures her and whatever she wants because she is a tool that cannot refuse. Messed up.
Gil knows that Vincent is hiding something, and Gil himself seems to have forgotten some of his past, and we get snippets of it that show just how broken he is. And Alice....can't spoil this, but WOW.
And Elliot!!! No, he was not in this volume, but last time, he was having some strange dreams about the Tragedy of Sablier...poor guy.

Volume 8 plus bonus one shot
By Kathryn E. Fox
We continue Break`s story and then have a cute story with Echo and Oz I liked. The ending note is a thought that while Victor seems the enemy, danger may lurk closer to home for Oz and those he cares about.
Bonus: one shot story of PANDORAHEARTS
I found this okay but hard to enjoy. It uses the same characters and settings but they are different people with different stories and it threw me off.

Good!
By Caroline Reed
I like the story and the book was as expected. The show was good, but the books are better. I suggest watching the show then reading the book and it feels like you have bonus info and more story added.
