Weird

CONFESSIONS by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro has to be one of the most unusual novels I have read. If ever there was a contest for the most dysfunctional family in New York City, the weird Angel family of West Manhattan would win hands down. The wealthy parents, Malcolm and Maud, chemists by profession, had for years been feeding their five children mood, mind, and body-altering drugs unbeknownst to the siblings. This regimen resulted in gradually changing them into zombie-like personalities deprived of all emotions except anger.
The story opens with the parents found dead in their bed. About the same time, the oldest sibling, Mathew, a Heisman Trophy winner and NFL Sunday afternoon hero for the New York Giants, is charged with the murder of his girlfriend. The main character and bright spot of the story is 16-year old Tandori Angle. Tandy, high on the IQ ladder, fashions herself as the family leader and protector. She also feels she has crime-solving instincts and constantly peppers a mostly uninterested Detective Caputo of the NYPD with her intuitive thoughts on murders and other crimes.
On one hand, the story is a bit simplistic and unreal while in many ways complicated and difficult to understand.
I recommend the read if you are a fan of Paetro and Patterson.

Private School Murders

This was a nice, fast moving suspense without a lot of sex. I would allow my teenage granddaughter to read this. Hated for the book to end.

Worst Book

This is the worst James Patterson book I have ever read. Actually, I can't even say that I read the whole book because I couldn't even get halfway through it. Personally, I wouldn't waste my money. If you're thinking of this for your first Patterson book, he has a lot of better ones out there.
