About the Author
Don Mann (CWO3, USN) is the author of the national bestseller Inside SEAL Team Six and the SEAL Team Six series of thrillers and has for the last thirty years been associated with the Navy SEALS as a platoon member, assault team member, boat crew leader, advanced training officer, and more recently, program director preparing civilians to go to BUD/s (SEAL Training). Up until 1998 he was on active duty with SEAL Team 6. Since his retirement, he has deployed to the Middle East on numerous occasions in support of the war on terror. Many of the active duty members of SEAL Team 6 are the same guys he taught how to shoot and conduct ship and aircraft takedowns, and trained in urban, arctic, desert, river, and jungle warfare, as well as Close Quarters Battle and Military Operations in Urban Terrain. He has suffered two broken backs, two pulmonary embolisms, and multiple other broken bones in training or service. He has twice survived being captured during operations.
Co-writer Ralph Pezzullo is a New York Times bestselling author and award-winning playwright, screenwriter and journalist. His books include Jawbreaker (with CIA operative Gary Berntsen).

A riviting story by a 20 year SEAL

I am generally not a big fan of fiction books, especially those related to the special ops/intelligence community. Having served 28 years in the CIA Counterterrorist and Security Centers, plus another 10 years in law enforcement and in the U. S. Navy, I find most of the novels in this particular genre wildly inaccurate and extremely silly (Tom Clancy being the exception). I usually close them up after the first chapter or two, never to pick them up again. This was not the case, however, after reading Hunt the Falcon, by Don Mann and Ralph Pezzullo. The latest in the SEAL Team Six series, Hunt the Falcon turned out to be an excellent read from beginning to end. This fast paced book provides a riveting and accurate description of how special operations units actually conduct counterterrorist operations in the field. As a former member of SEAL Team Six, Don Mann certainly possesses the expertise and experience to speak with an authoritative voice when discussing clandestine naval special operations, and this fact is clearly evident in his writing. Don's description of tactics and weaponry typically used in the spec-ops community is spot-on, which sets his book apart from most other novels in this particular genre. If you are interested in reading a suspenseful, action filled novel written by the "real deal" instead of some amateur wanna-be, pick up this book, or any of those in the SEAL Team Six series. I am currently reading Hunt the Scorpion, which I believe is book two in the series, and can attest that this novel is a real page turner as well. Anyone who is interested in reading a riveting story from a professional sec-ops warrior would do well to pick up this book, or any of Don Mann's books, including his non-fiction work, Inside SEAL Team Six.

Hunt the Falcon

This book is by far and away Don Mann's best book on the continuing adventures of Tom Crocker. This time
the battle, torture and tactics were brilliantly described. Not one to wince, I did in the torture of Crocker.
I especially appreciated the mention of high tech toys deployed by the team, which had been the
domain of Tom Clancy. I wonder if this book was made into a movie, who would by cast as Crocker?
Don't let Crocker retire and become a security consultant too soon. Keep them coming.

Predictable but a good read

I've read all of the Don Mann books. He uses much of his own personal experiences in the stories. Consequently if you read "Inside Seal Team Six", you've already read a good chunk of each story. One thing you don't have to worry about is him miss using military lingo, mixing up rank or using equipment or tactics that SEALs just don't use (like other SEAL book authors.)
All in all good stuff and I would buy his next book.
