Cute Book, Storyline Could Be Better

I bought this for my 3 year old My Little Pony fan and she likes the book and we've read it several times. The story is about Twilight Sparkle receiving a letter from the mayor saying that all the ponies are invited to the Equestria Games in Rainbow Falls. All the familiar ponies (Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Twilight, and Rarity) travel by train to get to Rainbow Falls, leaving Spike behind to take care of the animals. Twilight continues to read facts about Rainbow Falls to the others aloud as they explore the town and prepare for the games and she writes and sends postcards about what's going on to Spike. The Ponyville Flyers end up qualifying for a relay race in Crystal Empire, which is another book in the series.
The illustrations are colorful and my daughter enjoys pointing out all the ponies in the pictures. The book includes some removable postcards as well similar to the ones Twilight sent to Spike. The book has a lot of text per page, about half the page in fact, so this book is more suited to an older child. My daughter likes it but has a hard time sitting through all the text before wanting to turn the page. I'm giving it 4 stars because I found the storyline to be a bit lacking and not very interesting, but if you have a My Little Pony fan, they'll enjoy it.

Because my kids like My little pony

Because my kids like My little pony, this book was received with great excitement. It does go along with one of the episodes from my little pony. In fact all of the my little pony books seem to. I don't mind that for some, but would welcome some original stories. I think they would want to read them more if they did. No surprises in this book, but it is what you are looking for if your kids are begging for My Little Pony books like mine were :).
